Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
I grew up with a father who very happily ‘had sand in his shoes’ and we moved constantly – living in a town for a year or two before the travelling bug hit and we set off once again. I have spent time in places as disparate as a ghost town on the Nullabour Plain that was being encroached on by sand and had one permanent resident; to the busy, jostling medinas of Casablanca, Marrakesh and Fes; to European cities where the mix of history and modern architecture was striking; to the joyful aqua seas and bright sands of the Mediterranean with ancient ruins scattered across the hilltops.
I started working in the jewellery trade in Sydney after my schooling was completed and gained my Diploma of Gemmology in 1986. A few years later I found myself travelling again – this time as a military wife.
Eventually we settled down on a farm on the Great Dividing Range in NSW, where we built a passive solar house that we share with our three children and where we have a lazy cat or two, a working dog and a few hundred cows over the back (or side or front!) fence!
All of these experiences have left an impression on me and when I returned to the jewellery world – this time designing and handcrafting limited edition and one of a kind pieces – in 2002, I used my love of natural gems and pearls along with the scenery I have absorbed over the years, to create wonderful wearable jewellery that bring to mind other times and places.
Come on a journey with me and see pieces evocative of ancient civilizations, Victorian elegance, quiet pastoral vistas, bright tribal scenes and more.
